Obituary of Heather Howes
The passing of Heather Jean (Charters) Howes of Fredericton, NB, wife of Tom Howes occurred on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 19, 1955 in Woodstock, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Selina “Lena” (Mills) Charters. She worked at the Bank of Montreal for twenty years. Heather was a member of the Fredericton Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a musician and was a member of various singing groups. Heather was a previous coordinator for River Valley Citrus. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, gardening, knitting and spending time with her family and friends. Heather loved her cats and all animals.
In addition to her husband, Heather is survived by her daughter, Naomi Estey (Chris) and son, Zach Howes; sister, Judy Charters of Fredericton, NB; sisters in law, Mary Lou Horsnell (Mike) and Ann Small; brothers in law, Hilary Howes and Steve Howes (Cathy); aunt, Nellie Charters; close cousins, Lewis Morgan and Shawn Russell; several other cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew John Estey.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11am with Pastor Ladd Dunfield officiating.
