Obituary of Karen Komulainen

It’s with great sadness that the family of Karen Komulainen of Fredericton, NB announce her passing on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB on March 30, 1961, she was the daughter of James C. Fraser the late Shirley A. Fraser. Karen will be missed by husband, David whom she was married to for almost thirty years. Karen was a graduate of UNB with a Business Degree. She worked for Brian Miles for the past twenty seven years. Besides her husband, David, Karen is survived by her sister, Kelly and her father, James and step mother, JoAnne; mother in law, Anna Ikäheimonen; sisters in law, Pirjo, Tiina and Shani. Besides her mother, Karen was predeceased by her grandmothers, Pearl Graham and Norma Fraser; grandfathers, Basil Graham and Peter Craig Fraser and father in law, Edward Komulainen. Family and Friends are invited to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, July 19, 2015 for visitation from 2-5 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 1 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made in Karen’s memory to the Lung Association, New Brunswick Kidney Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
