Obituary of Viola Whitfield

The passing of Viola May (Burlock) Whitfield, of Fredericton, NB, wife of Trevor Whitfield, occurred on June 23, 2015 at her home. Born on May 6, 1934 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Peacock) Burlock. Viola was a member of Devon Park Baptist Church, a life member of the IODE Sir Howard Douglas Chapter and a member of the Fredericton Golf and Country Club. She was also an enthusiastic bridge player. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Christopher and Eric (Yang-i) Whitfield; her sisters, Joyce Cyr (Claude) and Muriel Mercier (Bill; brother in law, Bryan Whitfield; several nieces. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Burlock; half sisters, Violet Burlock and Anna Morgan and half brothers, Wallace and Ernest (Hazel) Burlock. A Private Family Interment will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery, followed by a Reception for her friends at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 3-5 pm.
