Obituary of Myrtle Whitehead
The passing of Myrtle Gertrude (Gray) Whitehead, of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Albert Whitehead, occurred on June 18, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 25, 1916 in Scotch Lake, NB, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Ethel (Clark) Gray. Myrtle enjoyed playing cards, knitting and was fond of country and gospel music. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Yerxa of Fredericton, NB and Judy Fullerton (Douglas) of Springfield, NB; her son, Philip Yerxa (June) of Scotch Settlement, NB; step-son, Allison Whitehead (Marlene) of Fredericton, NB; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and four very special friends, Tressa, Norma, Effie and Arlene. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Eldon Yerxa; her son, Howard Yerxa; two grandchildren, Darrell Yerxa and Angela Fullerton; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Yerxa; sisters, Mary Jones, Evelyn Galloway and Ellen Price; brothers, Elmer and Bernus Gray; sister-in-law, Margaret Gray-Brewer and brothers-in-law, Thomas Price and Guy Jones.
There will be a private family Graveside Service held in Scotch Settlement Cemetery, Scotch Settlement, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
