Dear family,
We are so sorry to hear of Tante Narda’s passing and just want to let you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I remember my dad mentioning that she was once known as the “Queen of [the town of] Diemen” because of her beauty. And I have very happy childhood memories of the time our family spent with yours at your wonderful home in Canada. I was young, but I remember our parents laughing and enjoying each other’s company. And of course, I remember the horses (Lady and Amigo?), (Laddie?) the dog… the cat… the stream that ran through your property… so many lasting impressions on a kid from New York. Your mom was very kind and gracious, making sure everyone was comfortable and happy; it was a special time, and I will always carry it in my heart.
With love,
Arabella and Ray

Good morning Will
Melda and I were so sorry to hear of Narda's passing. She was such a great person. My mind goes back to when we would all go to the Dip at Christmas time. She would soon take over the conversation with her stories. We just loved it- couldn't get enough. Beautiful sense of humour and a beautiful person. Our prayers are with you and the family.

We wish to express our sincere sympathy to all family members on Narda's passing. We have many memories - she worked with Bill at Transportation, she revitalized my mother's homestead, she was loyal to the Girl Guide units when they were in existence, she was just a joy to be around and talk with over many years. We hope all your wonderful memories as well will help all of you through this time of sorrow and mourning. We regret we have not seen her in recent months - but our accidental meetings around the city and community were special to us and to my sister Madelyn Crawley as well. We are thinking of you at this time and we send along our condolences to all.

I have fond memories of your mother as my guide leader when the company was first formed. She was always efficient and knowledgeable but also kind and caring. I still smile and think of her when anyone calls me "Vendy". My favourite line was "Vell, Vendy, vhat do you vant?"
Treasure all your good memories of her.

I was saddened to read on line of the death of Narda Forbes. Your family lived next door to my family on Elizabeth Street ....many years ago. She was always very nice to me....and we would have a good chat when we met years later....she always asked about my mother. I loved to listen to her talk.....with that beautiful dialect of hers. Take care.
