Life Legacy Today the world is a little darker and the sun is not shining as brightly because today we start the rest of our journey without you a devoted husband, cherished father; unique grandfather and great grandfather. Brian Joseph Goodine who passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Brian worked for the Federal Government in the Agricultural Department, retiring in 1994 after 39 years of faithful service. Brian was also known to be a regular at the Fredericton race track, where he originally got the horse racing fever at a very young age when he went with his father and carried on for many years with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also over the years owned a couple horses. After his retirement he continued to work on his small hobby farm, a few animals, gardening both vegetables and flowers and especially looked forward to spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a faithful member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in French Village. Born on April 18, 1938 in York County, NB he was the son of the late Leo and Joanne (King) Goodine. Brian was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen (McKay) Goodine; great grandson, David, and brother, Gilbert. Brian will be greatly missed by his children, Joanne, Leo (Marcia), Faith (Mike), Vanda (Dale), Kim (Chris) and Chris; his ten grandchildren, Shawn (Pam), Miranda (Jake), Courtenay, Nicholas, Lucas, Taylor, Dustin, Montana, Alicia and Sara; his three great grandchildren, who Grampie G thoroughly enjoyed to the end, Tanner, Brooklynn and Josie. He also leaves behind sister in law; brothers in law; nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anne’s Catholic Church on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11 am with Father Matthew Onwugigbo as celebrant. A Private Family interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery Extension.
