Obituary of James Furlong
The passing of James Joseph “Jim” Furlong of Hanwell, NB occurred on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 22, 1952 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Raymond and Marjorie (Cameron) Furlong. He retired from NB Power as a Linesman. Jim loved cars, especially Mustang’s and Jeeps. His family was the most important part of his life.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Tasha Burgess (Jon) of Fredericton, NB; son, Adam Furlong (Jenna) of Pemberton, BC; grandchildren, Emily, Kyle, Lily, Connor and an expectant boy on the way; sister, Theresa Enman (Frank) of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Michael Furlong (Cheryl) and Paul Furlong (Kay) both of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parent, he was predeceased by his infant twin brother, John.
Although there will be no visitation by request; a Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10 am. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Fredericton SPCA.
