Obituary of Claude Bailey
The passing of Claude Osborne Cameron Bailey, of Nasonworth, NB, husband of the late Marie (Richard) Bailey, occurred on March 26, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 28, 1914 in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of the late Osborne and Gertrude (Booker) Bailey. Claude was retired from the Provincial Government and was the owner – operator of Amateur Radio Station VE1HU. He was a member of the Fredericton Amateur Radio Club, International Repeater Group, the International Quarter Century Wireless Association and the New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering, Technicians and Technologists.
Claude is survived by his daughter, Joan Powell of Nasonworth, NB; his grandson, David Powell (Eileen) and great grandchildren, Sarah and Amanda Powell of Toronto, ON as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Ruby (Moran) Bailey (Joan’s mother); grandchildren, John and Linda Powell; sisters, Arlene Meredith and Elaine Everett and brothers, Wardlow and Bill Bailey.
A Memorial Service will be held from Nasonworth Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. David Gray officiating. Interment will take place in Nasonworth Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
