Obituary of Donna Briggs

The passing of Donna Marion Briggs of Fredericton, NB, wife of Lloyd Briggs occurred on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 8, 1926 in Queensbury, NB, she was the daughter of the late George and Glenn Cora (Dunlop) Major. Donna was a member of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church and the Women’s Missionary Society. In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her daughter, Patricia Briggs; son, David Briggs (Anne) of Antigonish, NS; two grandchildren, Allan Briggs (Aya) and Lori Horwood (Scott); five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Donna was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Carol, Rowena and Norma. Although there will be no visitation by request, a Private Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
