Obituary of Rosaline Boulter

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother; Rosaline (Baird) Boulter, wife of 72 years of Hazen L. Boulter of Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Born in Ballinamore, Ireland on January 8, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Jane Baird. The Baird family emigrated from Ireland on the S.S. Athenia, arriving in Quebec City on April 29, 1929. The S. S. Athenia was one of the first ships sunk by the German navy in 1939. Rosaline travelled with her family from Quebec City to a small farm in Waasis, NB. Her family operated a successful farm for many years. After Rosaline married Hazen Boulter and he returned from World War II, they settled in Devon. Rosaline and Hazen became life long residents of Devon. A quiet, private lady, Rosaline’s family became her life’s focus. Her coconut cream pies had no rivals. Rosaline kept in good shape practicing yoga beginning in the 1960’s when yoga was not yet fashionable. In addition to her husband, Rosaline is survived by her seven children, Roy (Shirley), Mavis (Peter), Jack, Tom (Eva), Ron (Marilyn), Glenna and Verna (Norbert). Rosaline is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by brothers, Dan, John and Tommy and sisters, Ena, Maggie, Jennie, Kathleen, Ethel, Minnie and son in law, Peter Terry. At Rosaline’s request there will be no viewing or funeral service. A private family burial will be held in the spring. Funeral Arrangements are in care of York Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Dr. Hauman and the nurses from 4SW and 4SE of the Chalmers Hospital for their dedicated service. A special thank you is given to Kathy Lavigne from Bayshore, for her compassionate care of our mother during mother’s final stages. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
