Obituary of G�raldine Dion

It is with great sadness that the family of Géraldine (Duguay) Dion (née Godin) age 90 of Fredericton announces her passing on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Preceded in death by her cherished husbands, Fabien Joseph Duguay and Lorenzo Dion. Géraldine, also known as Argentine to some, was born in Bertrand, New Brunswick on April 29, 1924 to the late Prospère and Leontine (Cormier) Godin. She attended Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas. She leaves to mourn her loss and treasure wonderful memories, her daughters and sons, Bella Bourque (Thomas), Dieppe, NB, Yvette Pinault (Michel), Terrebonne, PQ, Céline Boucher (Gérard), Saint-Alexis-de-Matapédia, PQ, Vincent Duguay (Ange May LeBlanc), Montreal, PQ, Rina DeKouchay (Mike), New Maryland, NB, Réginald Duguay (Cynthia Colwell), Fernand Duguay, Denise Chapman (Mike Henderson), Fredericton, NB and the Dion stepchildren; 18 loving grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild (fifth generation); sister, Rita Bass (Ernest), Rang-Saint-Georges, NB, brother, Thomas Godin (Elizabeth), Dieppe, NB, sister-in-laws Thèrese Godin, Rang-Saint-Georges, NB, Suzanne Savoie, St. Laurent, NB, Céleste Duguay, Azilda, ON and Nicole Godin, St. Catharines, ON. She will be dearly missed by her dear companion/card-player Adelard Doucet and her many beloved nieces and nephews who she adored. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lina Hébert, Albertine Hébert, Roséla Savoie, Aline Duguay and brothers, Michel et Jean-Eudes. Géraldine was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends, they were her passion and delight. She will be fondly remembered by her love of life and laughter.
The family will receive family and friends on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 6-9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held at noon on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from Paroisse Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas, 715 Priestman Street, Fredericton, NB with Father Donald Savoie as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, IWK or the charity of the donors choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
