Obituary of Ethel Rutledge
The passing of Ethel Mary (Lint) Rutledge, wife of Ernest Rutledge of Fredericton, NB occurred on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Pine Grove Nursing Home. Born in Millinocket, Maine on January 28, 1925 Ethel was a daughter of the late Sterling and Lucinda (Pond) Lint. Ethel retired from Kmart where she was a cafeteria worker. She was a member of Nashwaaksis Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Ethel is survived by daughters, Judy Rutledge Shipman (Gary) of Arizona, Mary Towers (Edwin) of Edmonton, AB; son, Ernest Rutledge Jr. (Heather) of Plaster Rock, NB; nine grandchildren, Derek and Dana Burge, Jason and Kaleena Robinson, Stephanie Towers, David Rutledge, Lucinda, Farrah and Douglas Garginer; twelve great-grandchildren, Kody, Spencer, Jessica and Victoria Burge, Shelby and Brooklyn Burge, Cooper Robinson, Mia Schritt, Jennifer and Kyle Towers, Trae and Kyra Rutledge; great-great-grandson, Mason Mader. Ethel was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Leila Thurett and Eileen Higgins; brothers, Verdun and Sterling Lint.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 5-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Ross officiating. Interment will be in Marysville United Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
