Obituary of Evelyn Grant

The passing of Evelyn Carleen (Jones) Grant, wife of the late Quincy Eugene Grant, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on January 22, 2015 at York Care Centre. Born on September 17, 1939 in Keswick Ridge, NB, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Wiggins) Jones. Evelyn retired from Promotions in Grocery and Drug Stores. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Fredericton. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Sister Shelley Grant, CND of Penticton, BC; her sons, Michael Grant (Nyla) of Central Hainesville, NB and Kirby Grant (Karen) of Fredericton, NB; four grandchildren, Matthew, Adam, Treicha and Madison; siblings, Florence Sharpe (Merle) of Fredericton, NB, Mavis Currie of Fredericton, NB, Arden Jones (Suzanne) of Fredericton, NB and Edmund Jones (Helen) of Chatham, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Durwood and Alvah Jones. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2 to 5 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held from St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Fredericton, NB on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2 pm with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in Mactaquac Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association, Extra Mural Program, York Foundation (Chapel Fund) or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
