Back in the early 80s I was a member at Mactaquac. We used to play golf in the evening through the week and finish with a competition on the putting green with Dave Rankin who was the club pro. It was always a pleasure to play a round with Colin. I am saddened to hear of his passing.

Very sorry to hear of Colin's passing. I was a student of his at Gagetown for 4 of my 9 years in the school (Grades 6,7,8 and 9). If this is a recent picture of him, it is the face I remember very well. If I attributed one of my character traits to him, it's my sense of humor. He was the one who broke me out of my shy shell as a young person. Please accept my deepest condolences, along with those of my parents, Sharon and James McConchie of Hampstead.

I saw the notice of Colin's passing in the Telegraph Journal last evening. It brought back memories of the late 60's. We were all so young.
Losing a sibling is shocking and hard to accept, but God is with you as he is with all of us in times of grief.
May the visitation and funeral bring you a measure of comfort.

Dear Carla and Family:
I just heard about Colin's death. I am so sorry. There isn't anything else a person can say. It will be hard but take time, as a family, to talk about him and share the memories. You will laugh and you will cry but at least you will be telling stories......and Colin wouldn't have it any other way. Thinking about you.

I have many fond memories of Colin as we were Dorchester School classmates for many years. I was also at Teachers' College with Colin and we were "student teachers" together in 1966 at Fredericton High. Colin was a friend, easy to talk with and we shared many laughs both at school and at TC.
My condolences to all the family.

My condolences to the family. He was an amazing teacher at the Gagetown School. He was always willing to help and go above and beyond his teaching expertise. I am sorry to hear this news. Colin and I go back to the early 70's at UNB. We played Bridge and even won a few Master's Points. Colin was noted for making the occasional radical bid. When you had Colin as a bridge partner you took nothing for granted. I also remember watching Colin and my brother playing 3-dimensional chess (way over my head).
I recall being in a study group with Colin and a couple of others. We were called upon to make a presentation to a class. Colin was in charge with his unforgettable stage presence. He had a class of over 60 students eating out the palms of his hands. Everyone in that room will remember Colin's part of the presentation and no doubt will recall the topic: the interaction of frustration and aggression. I know I do.

Colin was my Middle School Math and Science teacher. I then went back not that many years after and worked with Colin during my teaching internship. I have many fond memories of him as a teacher (Chess club, SRC, golf club, teaching me how to play Bridge, class trip to Halifax in Grade 9, giving out big bags of chips at Halloween) and as a family friend having supper with my family on any given occasion. My thoughts are with his family as I know he will be greatly missed.

Colin came back to DHS that first year after college. He taught me two or three subjects that needed improving. I had missed a lot of school in the previous two years. It seemed that the minute he gave me his explanation I got it. I think he had the "stuff" that good teachers are made of and I wanted to send my condolences to his siblings

To all family members;condolences.I met Colin in 1979 when he hired me to dj the Gagetown School Prom. Great guy;very warm, friendly. I grew to know him better as I entered the teaching field. Colin loved his golf and it was a pleasure golfing with him a few times at the annual teachers golf tournament. He was one of the few people that I knew,if he hit a ball in the woods, that didn't bother him at all. That spoke a lot about his personality. He will be missed and I know I will miss him.
