Obituary of Betty Hamilton

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Betty Jean (Price) Hamilton on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Pine Grove Nursing Home, surrounded by her children. Born on December 25, 1928 in Priceville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Vivian and Hazel (O’Donnell) Price. Betty enjoyed the Blue Jays, scratch tickets, crosswords and the many years she spent with her husband, Gerald Hamilton at their camp on the Miramichi River. Betty is survived by her four children, Bonita (Raymond) Doucette, Gerry (Sandra) Hamilton, Sandra Johnston and Sharon Wahl; numerous grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Ashley (Iona) Price; one sister, Elva (Ivan) Clowater; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Hamilton; sisters, Clara Price, Edna O’Donnell, Norma Robinson, Audrey Weaver and Nancy Lyons; brothers, George “Pete” Price and Allison Price. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 3 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
