Obituary of Jean Branscombe

The passing of Jean Eileen Branscombe of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Michael Branscombe, occurred on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at York Care Centre. Born on January 31, 1935 in Burtts Corner, NB, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Dora Ann (Bird) Hine. Jean is survived by her daughters, Deborah Tobin (Richard) of Truro, NS and Susan Branscombe (Thomas Buckingham) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Scott, Stacey and Cheryl Tobin, Patrick and Emma Buckingham; great granddaughter, Emma Ross; sisters, Marion Love of Mactaquac, NB and Doris Berna of Kamloops, BC; brother, Richard Hine of Mactaquac, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was predeceased by brothers, Donald and Lloyd Hine. The family would like to thank the staff at York Care Centre, specifically Birch Grove and Dixon Lodge, for their excellent care and companionship over the last two years. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 2-5 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11 am with Father John Jennings officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
