Obituary of Darrell Rumble

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, Darrell Charles Rumble which occurred on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was born on June 11, 1942 in Maugerville, NB. Darrell was a loving husband to his late wife, Dianne (Charters) Rumble for 46 years. Dad was proud to be born and raised in Maugerville, but nothing meant more to him than his family. He supported all of his children and grandchildren in their various activities. He was an avid sports fan. He loved stock car racing and the Maple Leafs. Dad worked as a mechanic and shop foreman at Wood Motors for 40 years. He was also a business entrepreneur operating Sunbury Line Stripers. Dad or Grampie as the kids knew him was a wonderful teacher and could advise us on any subject and that advice was usually right. Dad like Mom loved Christmas and especially Christmas Eve when all gathered down home every year. Darrell is survived by his mother Edith (McQuinn) Rumble; children, Dale Rumble of Fredericton, NB, Janice Rickard (Davey) of Charters Settlement, NB, Brenda Seymour (Ted) of Fredericton, NB, Dawna Scott (Les) of Charters Settlement, NB, Shelly Shepard (Derek) of Fredericton, NB and Sheri Brokopp (Alan) of Charters Settlement, NB; grandchildren, Alicia Campbell, Allie Rumble, Alana Rickard, Jill Rickard, Garrett Seymour, Ryan Seymour, Jenna Scott, Mathew Shepard, Sydney Shepard, Jessica MacPherson, Laura MacPherson and Dax MacPherson; great grandchildren, Ava Campbell, Dave Hartlen, Rose Hartlen and Zachary Beaver; sisters, Elaine MacDonald and Cathy Barclay (Steve) both of Maugerville, NB; brothers, Arthur Rumble (Rowena) of Fredericton, NB, Jim Rumble (Kimberly) of Maugerville, NB and Glen Rumble (Angie) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Darrell is predeceased by his father Roy Rumble and first wife, Helen McLeod. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 2-5 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Maugerville United Baptist Church on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. Stephen Budd and Rev. Larry Matthews officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Davey Rickard, Ted Seymour, Les Scott, Derek Shepard, Alan Brokopp and Brad Crawford. Interment will take place in Maugerville Baptist Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff of 4NW, especially Debbie; also Dr. Anan, Dr. Gowan and nurse, Elaine in Oncology. Also a special thank you to his sister, Elaine, Les, Larry, Janet and John for taking such good care of Dad while he was still at home.
