Life Legacy
The passing of Mary Izetta (Lindsay) Gorman of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Arden Gorman, occurred on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 31, 1923 in Maplewood, NB, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Brewer) Lindsay. She ended her career, as a Senior Clerk with NB Liquor. Izetta was involved with the St. John Ambulance, Ladies Auxiliary, Bowling, Mic Mac Trailer Club and the Fiddlehead Campers, Izetta was known as the “go to neighbour” on MacLaren Avenue. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting mats from plastic grocery bags. Izetta and Arden enjoyed spending many winters in Florida.
Izetta is survived by her daughters, Paulette Billings of Hainesville, NB, Pamela Harrison of Harvey, NB, Wanda Clark (Chris Gullison) of Giants Glen, NB; sons, Gordon (Audrey) Richardson of Beaverdam, NB, Arnold (Diane) Gorman of Saint John, NB; 13 grandchildren, Rosemary (Danny) Maynard of Moncton, NB, Stacey (Shawn) Banks of Nepean, ON, Casey (Stacey) Billings of Hainesville, NB, Joy (Eddy) Billings of Cornwall, ON, Coleman Billings of Hainesville, NB, Gary (Sharon) Billings of Keswick Ridge, NB, Deborah Arsenault of Moncton, NB, Noel (Tanya) Harrison, Nigel (Philippa) Harrison both of Fort McMurray, AB, Trudy (Roger) Pickles of Killarney, NB, Angie (Prince) Clark of Fredericton, NB, Jason (Tracy) Comeau of Saint John, NB, Ryan Gullison of Wetaskiwin, AB; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Patricia (Weldon) Palmer of Millville, NB; brothers, Gladwin (Marietta) Lindsay of Maplewood, NB, Gaylon (Sharon) Lindsay of Maplewood, NB; sister-in-law, Winnona Bubar of Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Izetta was predeceased by her first husband, Waldo Richardson; sisters, Bessie Gallop, Doris Lawrence, Betty DeBruin; brothers, Basil, George, James and Wendell Lindsay; sons-in-law, Arnold Billings and Gerald Harrison.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 4-7 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #4 are asked to assemble at 4 pm for a Tribute Service. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating and Rev. Karl Gorman assisting. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
