Obituary of Alice Giovannetti

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Alice May Giovannetti, wife of John Giovannetti, which occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 13, 1932 in Sydney, NS, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Ethel (Stewart) Gerrior. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. Alice enjoyed, square dancing, curling and crafts, she also loved animals. In addition to her husband of 63 years, Alice is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Bernard) of Montreal, QC and Linda (Greg) of Kingston, NS; son, Stephen (Elisa) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Stephen, Ricky, Crystal, Bryan, John, Sarah and Samuel; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Theresa of Halifax, NS and Ethel (Walter) of Sydney, NS; brothers, Stewart of Glace Bay, NS and Vincent (Diane) of Windsor, NS; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Alice was predeceased by her sister, Doris and brothers, Laven, Allan, Leo, David, Alphonse and Gregory. Although there will be no visitation, Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 02, 2014 at 11 am with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church Building Fund.
