I first met Billy in the late 1960's when I was 4 - 5 years old and visiting my aunt. She lived up over the hill behind the Horncastles and my cousins and I would often go down to hang out with the "older kids". I would see him occasionally over the years and then got re-acquainted with him through St. John Ambulance. A kinder and more gentle soul there never will be. I'll always remember his laugh and how it would be contagious throughout the room. Billy was a sweet man and I was lucky to be able to call him my friend.

So many memories of Billy and the Horncastle family.
We remember Billy's big friendly personality, boisterous laugh, endless teasing the McMurtrie children and he could always command your attention.
Darrell, Eleanor, Billy and Darlene were all lifetime friends of our family.
They are dearly missed.
God Bless them.

To The Family: Bill was one of a kind. A man with a heart of gold that was always willing to help anyone in need. I first met Bill many years ago shortly before his Mom passed. I remember his whole life revolved around caring for his Mom. He did this well and never complained. He had a great love for his sister and her family as well. I am sure the whole Horncastle family are reunited in a much better place. I haven't seen Bill for a few years but have very many special memories of him and we had many laughs. Rest in peace Bill.

My condolences on Bill's passing. Bill was a care giver to my father at the DECH in 1987. Our family was so appreciative of his gentle way with Dad and have always remembered him for this. May he rest in peace.

I was so shocked to hear of Bills passing. He was a kind, great sense of humor as we talked about the old days from our past. Thank you Bill for calling my mother Shirley on a daily basis, just to see how she was doing. It was always fun to get together when I came home for visits, you will be missed, RIP my friend from the great white north.

Please accept our sympathy and condolences on Billy's passing. We have many fond memories and good times shared over the years. Whether by visits or phone calls we kept in touch, often joking about keeping N. B. Tel in business. His sense of humor and timing of a joke or story will be missed. We're sure there is a "Horncastle" reunion today where Billy was welcomed with open arms. May he rest in peace.
