Obituary of Darrel Spencer
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darrel A. Spencer on September 28, 2014, loving husband to Maxine (Bird) Spencer. Born on November 28, 1947 in Burtts Corner, NB, he was the son of the late Murray and Greta (White) Spencer.
Along with his wife of 45 years, Maxine, he is survived by his three sons, Adrian of Saint John, wife Diane and their two boys, Jacob and Eric; Andrew of Halifax, wife Tracy and their two children Ava and Brayden; Aaron of Miramichi, wife Tara and their two boys Samuel and Nicholas. He is also survived by his sisters, Colleen Pugh, Donna Grant (Hollis) and Sandra Crouse; brothers, Gary (Phyllis) and David along with many nieces and nephews.
Darrel was well-known and loved in New Brunswick and throughout the world through his many adventuresome travels and philanthropy. He took great pride and loved his work as a financial advisor with York Financial and considered many of his clients to be his close friends. Darrel’s passions included fishing, travelling, photography, his family and serving God. He was a member of the Douglas Baptist Church, Douglas, NB.
To celebrate his life, please join Darrel’s family on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Douglas Baptist Church on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 1 pm with the Rev. Peter Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or to the Friends of Cameroon. Personal condolences may be made through www.yorkfh.com
