Obituary of Russell Savage
With great sadness we announce the passing of Russell Brian Savage of Fredericton, NB, which occurred on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 29, 1947 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Hilda (Elgee) and the late Royden Savage. For over 30 years Russell worked for Karnes Bakery (now Canada Bread) and in recent years was enjoying his retirement. He was an avid fan of baseball, hockey and nascar.
In addition to his mother, Russell is survived by his daughters, Lisa Staples (Chad) of Burtts Corner, NB, Stacey Nason (Robert) of Fredericton, NB; son, Douglas Savage of Halifax, NS; grandchildren, Thomas and Alex Savage, Aiden Staples, Abby, Ryan and William Nason; sister, Sandra Bell- Savage of Fredericton, NB; niece, Brandi Bell- Hanzl (Matej) of Charlottetown, PE. Besides his father; he is predeceased by granddaughter, Morgan Staples.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 1-2 pm, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. A Private Family Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery.
