Obituary of Lillian "Pat" Macfarlane
The passing of Lillian “Pat” Patricia Macfarlane of York Care Center, formerly of Lower Queensbury, NB, occurred on August 10, 2014 at the York Care Centre. Born on December 04, 1920 in Montreal, PQ, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Daisy (Wright) de Solla. Pat was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Keswick Ridge, NB.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Glenna J. Macfarlane of Lower Queensbury, NB; sons, Ross M. Macfarlane (Kathy Crane) of Halifax, NS, David B. Macfarlane (Lynn Davies) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Ken Macfarlane (Gillian) of Fredericton, NB, Alanna Macfarlane of Lower Queensbury, NB; great grandchild, Thomas M. Macfarlane; brother, Sid de Solla of Knowlton, PQ; daughter in law, Sue Macfarlane of Lower Queensbury, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Molly Mosher and Kay Forshaw; brothers, Steve de Solla, Alex de Solla, Bern de Solla and Pete de Solla.
Patricia treasured her family, neighbours and community and thrived on social contact. She found great joy in participating in the gatherings of family and friends, happiest when in the middle of all the preparation and serving action. During her active days, Pat was an enthusiastic member of the St. Barnabas Anglican Church Guild.
Always ready to help out and generous of spirit, Pat easily made friends where ever she went. The latter years of her life, she blossomed within the loving community at York Care Centre.
Pat loved to read, garden, sew and knit and was known for her great cooking and baking.
There will be no visitation by request. A Funeral Service will take place at All Saints Anglican Church on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11 am with The Venerable John T. Sharpe as celebrant. Interment will take place at the All Saints Anglican Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the York Care Foundation, All Saints Anglican Church Building Fund – “Wheelchair Ramp Project” or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
