Obituary of Beryl Rogers

The passing of Beryl Nelson Rogers of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Arthur Rogers, occurred on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 26, 1923 in Glace Bay, NS, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florance (Hampshire) Redmond. Beryl grew up in Dartmouth, NS, then moved to Ottawa, ON followed by Summerside, PE, from there she moved to Moncton, NB, then to Stephenville, NL, followed by Middleton, NS and finally settling in Fredericton, NB in 1963. Beryl worked at Maritime Air Command then as a Telephone Operator. She was a member of the I.O.D.E. Beryl is survived by her daughter, Jayne Lynn Rogers (Gerald MacDonald) of Fredericton, NB; son, Greg Rogers (Blandina Makkik) of Toronto, ON; grandchildren, Sheena and Colin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Beryl was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Lemon and her brother, Jack Redmond. In accordance with Beryl’s requests, there will be no services. Interment will take place at the People’s Cemetery in Summerside, PE at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice.
