Obituary of Benedicta Layton

The passing of Benedicta Lourdes (Colford) Layton of Doaktown, NB, wife of the late Stanley Layton, occurred on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born on July 14, 1921 in Howards, NB, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Jane (Turner) Colford. Benedicta is survived by her sons, Richard Layton (Judy) of Riverview, NB, Jude Layton of Blissfield, NB and LeRoy Layton of Blissfield, NB; two grandchildren, David and Susan; sister, Catherine (Tony) McEvoy of Renous, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Harold, Marvin, Joseph, Leo, Earl and Charlie Colford; daughter-in-law, Louise Layton. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of The Annunciation Catholic Church, Doaktown, NB on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 11am. Interment will take place in Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Blissfield, NB.
