Obituary of Marguerite Herbert

The passing of Marguerite Irene Herbert of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Aubrey Herbert, occurred on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 1, 1920 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Annie (Ferris) Dunbar. Marguerite worked at the Marysville Cotton Mill. She was an Elite 90’s Club Member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. Marguerite is the last surviving Charter Member of the Marysville Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #15. Marguerite is survived by her daughters, Sheila Casey (Peter) of Fredericton, NB, Corinne Harding (Charles) of Fredericton, NB and Shirley Gammon (Brad) of West Kelowna, BC; son, Garth Herbert (Joan) of Fredericton, NB; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Dempsey of St. Stephen, NB and Joyce Heins of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy and Shirley; brothers, Donald, Harry and Murray. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11 am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment will take place St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Reception will follow in the church hall. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, War Amps or the charity of the donor’s choice.
