Obituary of Ada Crocker
It is with sadness, that we announce the passing of our Aunt Ada I. Crocker of Gagetown, NB, formerly of Doaktown, NB on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Orchard View Nursing Home. Born in Doaktown, NB, she was the youngest daughter of Frank A. and Edith (Bartlett) Crocker. Ada graduated from Doaktown High School and Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing. During her nursing career she worked in Ontario, New Brunswick, Michigan and California. She lived many years in Laguna Beach, California, where she attended the South Shores Baptist Church. She was a nursing supervisor at the Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach. After her retirement she returned to Doaktown where she was a member of the Baptist Church.
Ada was predeceased by her parents, one brother, Norman Crocker and three sisters, Lena (infant), Vera (Kenneth) Jonah and Thelma (Gerald) Mitchell. She was Auntie Ada to Kenneth (JoAnn) Jonah of Dipper Harbour, NB, Willa (Ian) MacLean of Fredericton, NB, Paula Jonah of Mill Cove Nursing Home, NB and Beverly (Jean) Mitchell of Doaktown, NB; two grand nieces; two grand nephews and cousins.
Visitation will take place at Doaktown Baptist Church on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 12 noon with a Funeral Service to follow at 2 pm with Pastor Roger Mitchell officiating. Interment will take place in Doaktown Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
