Obituary of Joseph Vilimaitis
Joseph “Joe” Vytautas Vilimaitis passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Joe was the husband of Margaret (Barron) Vilimaitis, the love of her life “her superman”. Joe was born on August 8, 1930 in Lithuania. He was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church. He worked as a salesman for Sears until 1993. Joe was very active in most sports, musically gifted and could play almost any instrument.
In addition to his loving wife of 57 years, Joe is survived by his special nephew, Steve Yaychuk, his wife, Tenet and their sons, Alex and Philip (Joe′s Godson); sisters-in-law, Anne (Frank) Whaling, Genevieve (Ed) Williams; brother-in-law, Jim (Marie) Barron and many other nieces and nephews.
Although there will be no visitation; a private family service will take place at York Funeral Home with Father John Jennings and Father Ken Weir officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff of Oromocto Public Hospital with special mention of nurses, Shawna, Lisa, Jane and Lori for their care and compassion.
