Obituary of Leslie Morrison
The passing of Leslie Fenwick Morrison of Fredericton, NB, husband of Winnifred (Lay) Morrison occurred on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 30, 1919 in Granite Hill, NB, he was the son of the late Russell and Ida (Jordan) Morrison. He was a farmer in Bear Island, until 1965, he then moved to Burtts Corner, NB and was employed with Clark’s Poultry Farm, until his retirement. He was affiliated with the Anglican Church, serving as a Warden and Secretary for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was considered a craftsman at fine woodworking as well as an avid gardener.
In addition to his wife, Leslie is survived by his daughter, Mavis Jones (Lance) of Burtts Corner, NB; sons, David Morrison (Sharon) of Prince George, BC and Murray Morrison (Valerie) of Grimsby, ON; step sons, Tom Calhoun (Leona) of Camrose, AB, Bob Calhoun (Shirley) of Timmins, ON and Paul Calhoun (Mary) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Glen, Tracy, Tanya and Kimberley; step grandchildren, David, Melanie, Rhys, Sandra, Bill and Melissa; several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy (Rosborough) Morrison.
There will be a private family visitation; a Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 3 pm with Canon John T. Sharpe officiating. Interment will take place at Bear Island Cemetery at a later date.
