Obituary of Mavis Bailey

Mavis L. Bailey wife of the late Balfour Bailey (2002), passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 30, 2014, surrounded by her family. Born on June 17, 1931 in Zealand, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Olive (Burtt) Morehouse. Mavis was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, and the ACW. She was a dedicated homemaker to her family. Mavis is survived by her children, Peter (Dianne) Bailey, Heather Bailey, Karen (Leonard) Kelly; grandchildren, Adam Rosborough, Kristin Palmer, Patrick and Connor Kelly; brother, Keith Morehouse; sisters in law, Eleanor Minue and Constance Beach; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Shirley Van Millingen, Caroline Swanson and brother, Howard Robinson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 2 pm with Father Kevin Stockall officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
