Obituary of Harley Stewart
Harley Gene Stewart passed away on March 7, 2014, at the Amherst Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on May 27, 1932 he was the son of the late Clayton and Mildred Stewart. He was a resident of Boiestown, where he lived for 75 years. He was a fishing guide for Rocky Bend Fishing Club for most of his career. Harley enjoyed woodworking, fly tying and watching televised boxing. He took pleasure in spending time with his family and grandchildren. Harley was a quiet man who liked nature and the simple things in life.
He was predeceased by his wife Doreen (Swazey), the love of his life. He was a loving father to sons David (Rachel) and Brian (Tracy); a caring grandfather to Matthew, Jenna and Kate. He also leaves behind sisters Zola, Paula (Robert), Mona (Ron), Sandra (Tom); and brothers Stanley (Sereta) and Gary (Joan). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Harley was predeceased by one sister, Deanna.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, Boiestown, NB on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11 am with Father Joseph Okoko as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Boiestown, NB at a later date.
