Obituary of Frederick "Fred" O'Hara

The passing of Frederick “Fred” John O’Hara of Estey’s Bridge, NB, husband of Myrna (Green) O’Hara occurred on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 8, 1939 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late Bert and Dorothy (Harvey) O’Hara. He was a member of the Nashwaak Valley Golden Age Club, Fredericton Bluegrass and Estey’s Bridge Helping Hands. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing guitar. In addition to his wife of 52 years, Fred is survived by daughter, Janice Smith and son in law, Ron Smith of Kingsley, NB; two granddaughters, Jennifer Levesque (Rheal) and Kristen Smith; two great grandchildren, Peyton and Hunter Levesque; two sisters, Sharon Nodwell (Clinton) and Bonnie Humble (Ivan); brother, Irvine O’Hara (Claudia); several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant sister, Sharol O’Hara. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 10 am with Father Monte Peters officiating. Pallbearers for the service are Lorne Levesque, Trent Nodwell, Terry Humble, Brent Hawkes, Edmund Legacy and Bob Barker. Interment will take place in Seymour Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
