Obituary of Joseph "Marcel" Ouellette
The passing of Joseph Germain “Marcel” Ouellette, husband of Cherie Ouellette, occurred Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 20, 1950 in Saint Augustin, Quebec, he was the son of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Desjardin) Ouellette. After retiring from the RCMP, Marcel worked with the province of New Brunswick as a Fire Arms Officer. Marcel enjoyed spending time at his Sugar Bush camp, producing maple syrup, hunting, fishing, designing and building homes and restoration of their little piece of paradise on Grand Manan Island.
In addition to his wife, Marcel is survived by his son, Richard Ouellette of Fredericton, NB; daughters, Annick Ouellette of Montreal, QC and Nadia Roze of Fredericton, NB; grandchild, Trigvy Roze; brothers, Jean Guy Ouellette and Pierre Ouellette; sisters, Denise Maisoneuve (Robert) and Lucie Ouellette all of Quebec; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Marcel was predeceased by his sister, Claire Sauve.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 10 am with Father Monte Peters officiating. The family requests no flowers.
