Obituary of Mary Catherine McPhail
The passing of Beryl McPhail of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was born on June 1, 1930 in Escuminac, NB. Beryl was a Registered Nurse. Beryl was a member of St. Theresa’s Parish and was active in the CWL for over 30 years. Following Bob’s passing; she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Survived by her eight children, Beverly Bishop (Blake), Fredericton, Bruce McPhail (Susan), Tide Head, Barbara Jackson (Steve) Phoenix, Arizona, Brian McPhail (Jennie), Fredericton, Brenda Stirling (Blair) Gagetown, Beth Scott (Ned) Douglas, Bonnie Hamilton (Phillip), Boundary Creek, Brad McPhail (Lori Washburn), Fredericton. Beryl is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Bridget Barteaux (Jon), Ashley McPhail, Colin McPhail, Jennifer O'Daniels (Brian), Stephanie Baker (Chad), Carrie Goguen, (John Miller), Patricia Goguen (Corey Knox), Katherine Stirling (Jon Brawn), Jennie Stirling, Keith Scott (Jayme-Leigh), Kyle Scott (Karen), Kirk Scott, Holly Hamilton (Dan Wells), Travis Hamilton (Kathy Lewis), Jayme Washburn; 14 great grandchildren, Will, Emma, Jordan Barteaux, Jayden, Madison O'Daniels, Jaxon, Ava, Andrew Baker, Marissa, Dannika, Keirra Scott, Quinn, Adam Scott, Haylee Washburn. Survived also by her siblings, Eunice McGloin, Miramichi City, Bernadette Preston, Miramichi City, Marie Lemay (Maurice) Winter Garden, Florida, Gerald Preston (Sue) Saint John, Floyd Preston (Theresa) Kentville, NS; sister-in-law, Carolyn Meier, Calgary, AB and brothers-in-law, William McPhail, Chartlottetown, PE and James Sherwood, Halifax, NS. Besides her husband, Bob and her parents, Stanley and Marguerite (Bransfield) Preston, she was predeceased by her siblings, Sanford Preston, Kathleen Sullivan, and Lorne Preston.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 12 noon with Father Donald Savoie as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
