Obituary of Wilma Johnston

The passing of Wilma Elaine Johnston of Boiestown, NB, wife of Blair C. Johnston occurred on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Central NB Nursing Home. Born on May 23, 1926 in Porter Cove, NB, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edith (Parker) Hovey. Wilma retired as a Legal Secretary. In addition to her husband, Wilma is survived by her daughter, Marilee Murphy (Barry) of Middle Sackville, NS; son, Patrick Johnston (Leslie) of Halifax, NS; grandchildren, Shelley and Kristine who were raised by Wilma since the age of four; five other grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Michael; sisters, Regina, Gwendolyn, Shirley and Juanita and brother, Oscar. There will be no visitation or service at this time. Interment will take place in Ludlow Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the SPCA, Central NB Nursing Home or the charity of the donor’s choice.
