Obituary of Roxanna Goodwin
The passing of Roxanna Mary (Sturgeon) Goodwin of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Floyd Goodwin, occurred on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 5, 1927 in Miramichi, NB, she was a daughter of the late John and Ada (Astle) Sturgeon. Roxanna was a fan of hockey, racing, music and horse racing.
Roxanna is survived by her children, Albert Sturgeon (Theresa) of Doaktown, NB, Marshall Goodwin (Barb), Beatrice Crossman, Fred Goodwin (Colleen), Doreen Goodwin (Norman), John Goodwin (Judy), Theresa Goodwin (Dave) all of Fredericton, NB, Derek Goodwin (Debra) of Renous, NB; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Donovan, Annie Gillespie, Shirley Hallihan (Lewis), Lena Clark, all of Miramichi, NB, Mary DeWolfe (Peter) and Thelma Buchanan (Charles), both of Fredericton, NB; special daughter, Anita Aubrey (Mike) of Petawawa, ON; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Roxanna was predeceased by two infant sons, Sylas and Reginald; two grandsons, Dexter and Nicholas Goodwin; sisters, Eileen Hogan, Joan Donovan, Sylvia Donovan; brother, Frank Sturgeon; sister-in-law, Pearl Sturgeon; brothers-in-law, Reg Donovan, Bobby Gillespie, Leonard Clark, Andy Hogan, Roy Donovan and Jerry Donovan .
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 7-9 pm and on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 3 pm. Interment will take place in Saint Bridget’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Renous, NB at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
