Obituary of F. Joyce Moase

Moase, F. Joyce The death occurred in the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 of Joyce Moase of Fredericton, NB. Born in Regina on Oct. 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John James Holmes, Tyvan, SK and Mabel Adele Rogers, Tyvan, SK and Sackville, NB. Joyce is survived by her husband, Rev. Clifford Reagh Moase of Fredericton, NB; daughters, Elaine Moase (Ken Larlee) of Edmonton, AB, Kathryn Moase (Peter Hambly) of Scarborough, ON and Anne (Jim Haley) of Oromocto, NB and daughter-in-law, Agnes Moase of Liverpool, NS. Also surviving are grandchildren, Nicholas and Jocelyn Moase, Sarah Larlee, Ted Hambly, Will, Katie (Kelvin Gilliland) and Patrick Haley. She was predeceased by her son, James Reagh in 1997; brother, Roy in 1922 and step father, Olin McNeil in 1968. She was educated in schools in Tyvan, Regina and Saskatoon, SK and graduated from UNB Fredericton in 1983. Before her marriage, she taught in several Saskatchewan schools. Following marriage in 1952, she participated in the life and work of the United Church congregations her husband served as minister. She was a Life Member of the United Church Women and a long time member of the IODE. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Wilmot United Church, Fredericton, NB on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Ellen Beairsto, Rev. Rose-Hannah Gaskin, and Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Interment will take place in Peoples Cemetery, Kensington, PEI at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mission & Service Fund of the United Church of Canada, the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
