Obituary of David Hislop

The passing of David Grant Hislop of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Winnifred “Winnie” (Burgoyne) Hislop, occurred on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at York Care Centre. Born on June 7, 1941 in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was the son of the late John and Isabella (Wemyss) Hislop. David retired as the Insurance Manager for Canadian General Insurance Company. He was also a past President of the St. Andrew’s Society of Fredericton. He is survived by his step daughters, Catherine Potts of Toronto, ON and Carolyn Potts (Rick) of Port Moody, BC; step sons, Phillip Savage (Debbie) of British Columbia, Jim Savage (Donna) of Ontario and Brian Savage (Natasha) of Ontario; nine step grandchildren, Ainna, Kevin and Connor Potts, Sabrina, Jessica, Amanda, Terie, Clint and Samantha Savage; sister, Anne Bailey (Mike) of England. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his step grandson, Jeremy Savage. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 3 pm with Rev. Wendy MacWilliams officiating. Interment will take place in Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
