Obituary of Chester Cookson
The passing of Chester “Ted” Byron Cookson, husband of Ella (Plume) Cookson, occurred on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at his home, in Stanley, NB. Born on November 14, 1927 in Cross Creek, NB, he was the son of the late Carman and Vinna (Gallager) Cookson. Chester was self employed as a butcher and was a member of the Cross Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Chester is survived by his children, Kathy O’Hara (Robert) of Williamsburg, NB, Anne Carson (Mack) of Boiestown, NB, Tina Sellick (David) of Stanley, NB and Robert Cookson (Starr) of Quispamsis, NB; grandchildren, Kerensa and Nic O’Hara, Alison and Julie Carson, Tyler and Jill Sellick, and Sam and Ben Cookson; great grandchild, Brody Williams; several nieces and nephews. Being the last surviving member of his family, Ted was predeceased by his brothers, Claire and Stanley Cookson; sisters Lorraine MacLellan and Freda Larsen.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 12 to 2 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Mowry officiating. Interment will take place at the Cross Creek Baptist Cemetery.
