Obituary of Janet Cronin
Janet Barbara Cronin died on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at her home in Fredericton. Married for 51 years to Frank Cronin, Janet was born on November 23, 1935, in Blacks Harbour, NB. Janet was the daughter of the late Arthur and Kathryn (Pendleton) O'Neill. Janet revelled in her roles of wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was steady centre point of a home filled with love -- ever constant, ever welcoming, ever kind and generous. In her life she personified the truth that love is boundless and inexhaustible.
In addition to her husband of over 50 years, Janet is survived by her daughters, Sharon Cronin of Calgary, AB and Maureen (Jonathan) Montague of Fredericton, NB; sons, Raymund (Sarah) of Halifax, NS, Arthur (Michele) and Timothy (Danielle) both of Fredericton, NB, Michael and Richard (Alex) both of Toronto, ON; twelve grandchildren, Mollie, Kelsey, Kathryn, Raymund, Mary, Maggie, Irene, Rachel, Darcey, Ryan, Eric and Madeline; sisters, Glenna Leavitt (Robert) and Anita Hennessey both of Blacks Harbour, NB, Sharon Likely (Jay) of Calgary, AB and Sheila Yanofsky (Myer) of Lake Utopia, NB; sister in law, Theresa O’Neill of Pennfield, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Francis O’Neill.
There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11 am with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton Food Bank or the charity of the donor’s choice.
