Obituary of John Tranquilla

The passing of John Graydon Tranquilla of Fredericton, NB, husband of Carlene (Bird) Tranquillla, occurred on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 6, 1930 in Millville, NB, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Brawn) Tranquilla. John worked as a salesman at Wood Motors and various other dealerships. He also drove bus; was a supervisor for Irving Oil and was employed with NB Housing. He was a member of Sunset Church, Bridges of Canada and the Sunset Senior Ministry. John enjoyed playing music and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, Graydon Tranquilla (Vicki) of Calgary, AB, Stephen Tranquilla (Anna) of Fredericton, NB, Francene Patterson of Fredericton, NB, Kimberley Bourgoin of Burtts Corner, NB and Beverly Hilder (John) of Upper Kingsclear, NB; 12 grandchildren, Allison Hill (Jared), Stephanie Potter-Davey (Jordan), Gregory Bourgoin, Angela Hughes (James), Daniel Bourgoin (Kaitlyn), Jordan Patterson (Michelle), Nathan Tranquilla (Nikki), Melissa Plant (Tim), Jillian Tranquilla, Alexander Hilder, Adam Tranquilla and Morgyn Patterson; six great grandchildren, Emma, Sophie and Jaxson Hill, Milo Patterson, Gabriel Potter-Davey and Landen Plant; special nephew, Brian Tranquilla (Eileen); several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mabel Billings; infant brother, Desmond and brothers, James and Marcus. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Sunset Church on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 1 pm with Rev. Joseph Beesley officiating. Interment will take place in Millville Cemetery, Millville, NB. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Sunset Church - Building Fund. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
