Obituary of Julia Wilson

The passing of Julia “Ferne” Wilson of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Windsor Court. Born on December 20, 1922 in Zealand, NB, she was the daughter of the late Gustavus and Eva Sarah (Crouse) Wilson. Ferne was a retired school teacher; she worked in the Province of New Brunswick. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church and a former active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Ferne was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She worked with the young people at the Anglican and United Churches in Canterbury. Ferne enjoyed photography and writing songs. Ferne is survived by sisters, Neva Wallace of Fredericton, NB, Zula Morehouse of Burtts Corner, NB and Avis King of Fredericton, NB; brother, Paul Wilson (Irma) of Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Noreen Rowe and Aldah Burtt and brother, Aubrey Wilson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, August18, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 2 pm with Canon Bill MacMullin officiating. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Zealand, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church (Oil Spill Fund) or St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church – Building Fund.
