Faith Porter of Fredericton, NB, wife of George T. Porter peacefully went into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Born on February 8, 1944 in Portsmouth, England, she was the daughter of the late Edwin “Frederick” and Florence “Marie” (Smith) Reader. Faith leaves behind a saddened loving family and numerous friends who will dearly miss her. She will be loved and always remembered by her husband and soul mate of 49 years; her children, Kevin Porter (Krista), Karen Gunn (David) and her prized grandchildren, Tyler Gunn, Joshua Gunn, Rebecca Porter and Lucas Porter. She is also survived by her brother Anthony Reader, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister in law, Barb Reader. After retiring from a long career with Bank of Montreal in 1997, she devoted her time to her family and loved being the doting grandmother. She was a member of the Greenwood Drive Baptist Church, where she cheerfully volunteered each week at the clothing bank as well as the York Care Centre. She loved making people smile and was often the instigator of many family and friend celebrations. She was thankful for all God had blessed her with. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive visitors at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 6-9 pm.
