Obituary of Bertina Hunter

The passing of Bertina “Jane” Hunter of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 20, 1949 in Nashwaak Bridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Violet (Manzer) Hunter. She worked at the Direct Charge Co-Op as a cake decorator. She enjoyed working with the UCW in Taymouth and was a past Pathfinders Leader. Jane spent most of her time on being a loving mother and grandmother. Jane is survived by her daughters, Carrie Ross (Tommy McLean) of Fredericton, NB and Heather Astle (Terrence) of Grand Prairie, AB; son, Andrew Ross of Pleasant Valley, NB; grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Tiffany and Hope; sisters, Pheobe Ann Bruce (Glen) of Boiestown, NB, Margaret Munn (Vincent) of Parkers Ridge, NB, Elaine Hunter of Geary, NB, Cindy Hunter of Fort McMurray, AB and Gerry-Ellen Hunter of Zionville, NB; brothers, Manzer Hunter (Patricia) of Nashwaak Bridge, NB, Bruce Hunter (Bev) of Fredericton, NB, Herbie Hunter of Nashwaak Bridge, NB and Kenny Hunter of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews; special friend, James Seagrave. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two infant siblings; step mother, Sylvia Hunter; special nieces and nephews, Melanie Jill Hunter, Timothy Hunter and Kelly O’Dell. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 5-9 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 4 pm with Rev. Dr. Michael McDonald and Pastor Louise Boissounault officiating.
