Obituary of Timothy Murphy

It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Timothy Evan Murphy. After a long and courageous battle with cancer; Tim passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB on August 8, 2013. He was 45 years old. Born on May 1, 1968 in Freehold, New Jersey, he was the son of Joan (Asselta) Daley and the late James Evan Murphy. At the age of five he moved to Bloomfield Ridge, NB with his family. He graduated from Fredericton High School in 1986 and moved on to serve in the US Military as a machinist. After four years of service, he worked in Louisiana, North Carolina and South Carolina. He returned to Fredericton in 1999 and worked as a taxi cab driver until his diagnosis in 2007. Tim loved nothing more than to be outdoors. His most cherished place to be was camping on the family property in Bloomfield Ridge. His greatest love was for New Brunswick’s wilder lands. Tim is survived by his mother, Joan (Asselta) Daley (Patrick); his two brothers, Jim Murphy (JoAnn) of North Carolina, and John Murphy (Monica) of Colorado; his sister, Bonnie Tardif (Denis) of Rusagonis, NB; three nieces, Morgan, Victoria and Josie; a nephew, Matthew, and had many uncles, aunts and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, James Evan Murphy (1977), his maternal grandparents John and Jean Asselta, and his paternal grandparents, Evan and Betty Murphy. There will be visitation at York Funeral Home 302 Brookside Drive, on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Parish at 2 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2013 with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment at St. James the Greater Anglican Cemetery in Ludlow will be held later in the afternoon. For those who wish, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
