Obituary of Peter Vaughan

The passing of Peter Roy Vaughan of Fredericton, NB, beloved husband of Gayle (Draper) Vaughan occurred on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 8, 1948 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Walter “Pete” and Helen (Currie) Vaughan. He retired from the Department of Transportation, after 38 years of service. Peter was a long standing member of the Nashwaaksis Y’s Men; he was involved in local minor sports and was also an avid Blue Jays Fan. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family at his cottage in Mactaquac. In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by his children, Craig Vaughan (Jodi) and their children, Lara and Lily of Fredericton, NB; Kent Vaughan (Julie) and their son, Jonah of Kenmore, WA and Darcy Vaughan (Peter Corfield) and their son, Alec of Saint John, NB; sisters, Brenda Vaughan of Fredericton, NB and Sally Allanach and her children, Patrick and Josh of Saint John, NB; his extended family the Holyoke’s, Andy, Heather, Sara, Kristian, Emma, Livvy, Lisa, Mike, Evie, Tim, Fran, Jenny, Ken, Stevie, Malcolm, Suzie, Mandy and Alex. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating. Honourary Pallbearers for the service will be Andy Holyoke, Tim Holyoke, Steve Seymour, Larry Gullison, Kevin Barrett, Larry O’Leary, David Scott, Dick Burgess, Glen Doucet and Paul Gilmore. Reception will follow in the Nashwaaksis Y’s Men Community Room at the Willie O’Ree Place.
