Obituary of Lloyd Madsen

The passing of Lloyd Phillip Madsen of Fredericton, NB, husband of Dorothy (Coughlan) Madsen, occurred on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Central NB Nursing Home, Boiestown, NB. Born on August 10, 1928 in St. Stephen, NB, he was the son of the late Lewis and Edna (Ryan) Madsen. Lloyd was a member of the Canadian Army as a NATO Peacekeeper, serving in Germany for three years. He was a truck driver for Baxter’s; he was also a member of the Bluegrass Association. In addition to his wife, Lloyd is survived by his special step daughter, Wanda Smith (Doug) of Fredericton, NB; special step son, Daryl Underhill (Mary Jayne) of Sussex, NB; grandchildren, Sheldon (Theresa), Ian (Tammy), Shyanne (Dennis), Jonathan and Deanne (Mike); eight great grandchildren; sister, Mary Daigle; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Christopher; sisters, Ruth and Lois; brothers, Norman and Paul. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
