Obituary of Alice Marguerite Barter

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alice Marguerite Barter of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Clayton Barter, which occurred on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Shannex Parkland – Thomas Hall. Born on November 17, 1921 in Milltown, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Marguerita “Rita” (Canavan) Kelly. Marguerite was a Veteran of WWII serving with the RCAF. At the young age of sixty she acquired her high school diploma and then attended St. Thomas University for two years. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15, Marysville, NB. Marguerite enjoyed knitting, travelling, reading and spending time with her family. Marguerite is survived by her children, Dorothy Zinck (Gary) of Brandon, MB, Tom Barter (Connie) of Kouchibouguac, NB, Peggy DeCoste (Dan) of Debert, NS, Theresa Seamans (Ashley) of Doaktown, NB, Jim Barter (Deb) of Rusagonis NB and Bob Barter (Marion) of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Greg, Heather, Tim, Tara, Trish, James, Kelly, Kathy, Kris, Lee, Becky, Jamie, Lindsey and Leah; fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sister in law, Gail (Kelly) Hood. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant son, Timothy; sisters, Louise McCluskey, Mercedes Wilson, Helen Logan, Mary Mylen and Charlotte Glazewski; brothers, Joe and Thomas Kelly. Visitation will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 2130 Route 102, Lincoln, NB on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 11am -1pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 pm with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be Tim Barter, James DeCoste, Kris Seamans, Lee Barter, Jamie Barter and Iain Aitken. Interment will take place in Milltown Catholic Cemetery, St. Stephen, NB immediately following the mass.
