Obituary of Allan Rice

Allan Frederick Rice in his 88th year, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Allan is survived by his daughters, Linda and Karen Rice of Fredericton, NB and Bonnie Head of British Columbia; son, Frederick (Charlene) of Scotchtown, NB; he also leaves behind grandchildren, John Sewell of British Columbia; Shawn Rice (Deanna); Shannon Rice (Len) and their daughter, Hayleigh all of Fredericton, NB; Jordan and Kim Rice of Scotchtown Road, NB; Allan is also survived by special nieces, Jean Stairs, Audrey Brooks, Patsy Murray, Judy St. Pierre all of New Brunswick; niece and nephew, Cathy and Billy Sleep of Ontario and Arda Halls of England; cousins, Brian and Susie Akerley. Besides his parents, the late Arthur and Alma (Flowers) Rice of Barkers Point, NB, Allan was predeceased by his two brothers, Hayward and Doug; five sisters, Alice, Rose, Ethel, Ruby and Leona and their spouses. Allan was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation by request; a private family committal will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. If desired, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
