Obituary of Marion Brown

The passing of Marion Isabelle (Lynds) Brown of Burtts Corner, NB, wife of the late William ”Woody” Brown, occurred Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 29, 1933 in New Glasgow, NS, she was the daughter of the late Perley and Ruby (Benedict) Lynds. Marion worked as a baker for UNB and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Burtts Corner Lioness. Marion is survived by her daughters, Ruby Jenkins (Lewis) of Silverwood, NB and Joanne Pugh (Leslie) of Woodlands, NB; sons, Phillip Brown (Gail) of Burtts Corner, NB and Benvie Sample (Donna) of Westfield, NS; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Levy (Cyrle) of Sheet Harbour, NS; brother, Lawrence Lynds (Kay) of North River, NS and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, William Brown and parents, Perley and Ruby (Benedict) Lynds, Marion was predeceased by her daughter, Linda-Marie Brown; sons, Billy Brown and Stephen-Wayne Brown; grandson, Jamie Clark; sisters, Grace, Lucy and Daisy; brothers, Carl, Freddie, Wilfred, Filmore, Frankie and Earl. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 6 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon Macleod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Shane Foreman, Josh Foreman, Zachary Brown, Lucas Brown, Jeremy Wynia, Mike Barrieau and Jamie Lee Clark. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
